The depth of the frame is 3/4" and the rabbet (the depth of the space where the picture goes) is 1/4".

This Shasta Rubberwood 8x10 Matted Black Picture Frame comes with an easel back stand and hanging hardware so it can be displayed or hung on the wall either horizontally or vertically.The 11 x 14 Rubberwood frame  needs an easel for table display but has hanging hardware on the frame back.
